Entries for the 2017 World Rogaining Championship are now open. Enter before 14 December to maximise your chance of getting in. There won't be a WRC in 2018 so this will be the last opportunity to compete with the world's best for a while.

The WRC 2017 will be held on 18–19 August 2017 in Rāzna National Park. The website is at www.wrc2017.rogaining.lv

WARA hosted the 37th Australian Rogaining Championship and fourth Australasian Championship at Nannup on 17-18 September 2016. There were 315 competitors in 124 teams. Paul Williams and David Symons from WA won overall, followed by Gill Fowler and Joel Mackay from NSW, then David Baldwin and Julie Quinn from ACT. Andre Morkel and Tim Sikma were only 5 minutes behind, with the top 4 teams well clear of the field.

  • Tamsin Barnes (Qld), Janet Musker (WA), First Women

The Australasian Championship for 2016 is on 17-18 September, hosted by the Western Australian Rogaining Association. The event location is Nannup, 3.5 hours south from Perth.

On offer is a course with a wide range of terrain. About 60% of the map is forest including recently cleared pine plantation, old growth pine plantation and long ago logged Karri and Jarrah forest. The remaining 40% of the map is farmland: a mixture of sparsely vegetated paddocks and blue gum plantation. Event Coordinator is Warren Smith, course setters are Jeff Conrades and Ian Thomsett with vetters Bryan McClintock, Geoff Hearne. The event website is: ARC 2016.

The Australasian Rogaining Championship will be held on 11-12th February 2017 in New Zealand. The location is Northern Southland, near Waikaia. Queenstown is the closest international airport with frequent flights from Australia and the North Island.

The course has already been set and the locals are looking forward to welcoming athletes from all around New Zealand, Australia and the wider regions for the 2017 Australasian Rogaine Championships.

The 2016 Intervarsity Rogaining Championship will be held in conjunction with the ACT Rogaining Championships on the weekend of 30 April/1 May. The event location is the Shoalhaven River headwaters.

Each year The Nigel Aylott Memorial Sports Foundation (NAMSF) supports university students to enter the event. NAMSF was set up in memory of Nigel a keen adventure racer and rogainer, to encourage engagement in these outdoor sports. Details of NAMSF subsidies will be available shortly.

The University Rogaining Championship is open to all university students (full-time, part-time, undergraduate, or post-graduate).

Here is some information from the organisers of the European Rogaining Champsionships to be held in Spain this August: 

We are glad to present you the 13th European Rogaining Championship 2016. Our clubs, CDNavarra and GOT, will organize this event with the support of Iberogaine (Spanish Rogaining Association) the 27th of August 2016 in the Aralar Mountain Range (or Sierra de Aralar/Aralarko Mendilerroa). The event centre will be located in Lekunberri (Navarre).

We have tried to offer you allways the best places in our region. For this date. we have reserved one of the most special areas. A moderate hilly to mountainous terrain ~100 km²… run insideforests of beech, pastures, karst terrain and  varying differences in steep slopes values from 100 to 600 m. The highest peak is Irumugarrieta 1430 m and the lowest area is around 550m. This mountainous environment provides a physically challenging terrain where minimised climbs and drops will be an important factor.

Every amateur to orienteering or the mountain is invited to take part on the event. You will have 24 hours to enjoy with your teammates this unique landscape resides Navarre and Basque Country.

Keep calm, we have thought on everybody!!! At the same time, we will organize the 7th Navarre Rogaing Championship, so you can feel the mountain during 6 hours.

 Come and try a new way to visit our regions, Navarre and Basque Country!! We are planning some activities during the week before the event, so you can Discovery our environment, culture and gastronomy.
